ICCP relies on volunteers across Indiana to help strengthen community voices, support responsible development, and ensure residents have meaningful input in local decision‑making. Volunteers play a key role in research, outreach, communication, and county‑level coordination.

Whether you have a few hours a month or want to take on a leadership role, your involvement helps ICCP identify emerging issues, support local communities, and advance our mission statewide.

What Volunteers Can Expect

Volunteers may be asked to assist with tasks such as attending local meetings, gathering information, supporting community outreach, or helping with communication efforts. ICCP will provide guidance, resources, and support for all volunteer activities.

Volunteering with ICCP does not involve political campaigning or candidate endorsement.

Available Roles

County‑Level Roles
  • County Coordinator: Helps organize local outreach, track county‑specific issues, and serve as a point of contact for residents.
  • Community Outreach Volunteer: Assists with distributing information, attending local meetings, and helping residents understand ICCP’s mission.
  • Event Support Volunteer: Helps staff tables, booths, and community events; assists with setup, materials, and public engagement.
Research & Policy Roles
  • Research Volunteer: Reviews local ordinances, development proposals, zoning changes, and public notices.
  • Policy Support Volunteer: Helps summarize issues, prepare briefs, and assist with cause evaluation.
Communications Roles
  • Social Media Support Volunteer: Helps monitor local conversations, share updates, and assist with content distribution.
  • Writing & Editing Volunteer: Assists with drafting statements, refining cause descriptions, and preparing public‑facing materials.
  • Graphic Support Volunteer: Helps create simple graphics for causes, events, or informational posts.
Administrative Roles
  • Data & Records Volunteer: Helps organize submissions, track issues, and maintain internal documentation.
  • Membership & Volunteer Support: Assists with onboarding new members or volunteers and responding to inquiries.
Specialized Roles
  • GIS / Mapping Volunteer: Helps map development trends, zoning areas, or issue clusters.
  • Technical Support Volunteer: Assists with website updates, form improvements, or digital organization.
